Greenland 2: Migration is a 2026 post-apocalyptic disaster survival film and the direct sequel to the 2020 movie Greenland. It is directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune. The film continues the story of the Garrity family after the global comet disaster that nearly wiped out humanity. The story is set several years after the comet Clarke devastated Earth. John Garrity, his wife Allison, and their teenage son Nathan have been living in a massive underground bunker in Greenland along with other survivors. Over time, the bunker becomes unsafe due to structural damage, earthquakes, and environmental instability. With limited resources and no long-term future underground, the family is forced to leave their shelter. The outside world is harsh and largely destroyed. Cities lie in ruins, climate conditions are extreme, and surviving human groups are scattered and often hostile. The Garrity family begins a dangerous journey across continents, traveling through abandoned lands in search of a rumored safe zone in southern Europe where rebuilding civilization might be possible. Along the way, they face natural threats, violent survivors, and emotional challenges that test their unity and hope. The film focuses more on survival after extinction rather than the initial disaster. Themes include migration, rebuilding life after collapse, family bonds, sacrifice, and the human instinct to keep moving forward even when the world is broken. The main cast includes Gerard Butler as John Garrity, a determined and protective father; Morena Baccarin as Allison Garrity, the emotional strength of the family; and Roman Griffin Davis as Nathan Garrity, now older and struggling to grow up in a ruined world. Greenland 2: Migration shifts the tone from large-scale destruction to a more grounded, emotional survival journey, showing what happens after the end of the world and how humanity searches for a new beginning.
