📖 Plot Summary
Dong Yi is based on the true story of Choi Suk-bin, a low-born water maid who rises through the ranks to become a royal concubine of King Sukjong during the Joseon Dynasty and the mother of King Yeongjo, one of the most respected kings in Korean history.
The drama showcases her journey from a humble background to becoming a key figure in the palace, dealing with palace politics, love, loyalty, and justice. Her intelligence, kind heart, and determination win the king's heart and the respect of many.
